Im calling this style "new country" I'm from Iowa- so I can't help but be a little country, Like Marie Osmond- but I also like funny sayings that are a little weird or naughty. Here's the resulting mash-up....
My best buddy Shelly owns this painting. I think she bought a comforter to match. She hauled it from Texas to Iowa in her teeny tiny car even though she couldn't really see out of her back window the whole way.
This is as close as I get to free painting. No outline or anything in mind when I started this one, wait yes, actually, this started as a painting of a dog (which was horrid) and ended up as a floral frenzy. I think of it as a bad tattoo cover up.
My mom is often unimpressed with my cartoonish paintings and can't fathom why anyone would ever want one hanging over their couch. I did this painting for her, so she knows I can paint. She was very impressed.
My brother and sister in-law saw the painting of myself and my husband (above) and wanted one of their very own, here it is! It hangs above their mantle in a very fancy living room. The silliness of what and where it is makes me laugh every time I walk in there!
The Koo family wanted a painting. This one took me ages to complete but I was so happy I did. Their daughter loved it. That kid must have a good sense of humor!
